Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old champagne

Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old champagne

SKU: VCPEB7524U

Taste: The initial taste is powerful and smooth. That smoothness, another characteristic of the House, is supported by the lighter effervescence that often accompanies older Champagnes. After the initial taste, three qualities emerge: freshness, minerality and purity.

Smell: The first nose exhibits richness and amplitude. Aromas of ripe stone fruit and a delicate note of yeast emerge alongside aromas of candied lemon, all coated with the signature crunchiness of Veuve Clicquot Champagne.

Description: "Veuve Clicquot's Extra Brut Extra Old cuvée contains exclusively reserve wines from the 1988, 1996, 2006, 2009 and 2010 vintages, chosen for their freshness, opulence and structure. The Cellar Master imagined this blend, embodying the spirit of the Carte Jaune cuvée, emblematic of the House, by instilling intensity, depth and purity. The wines at the heart of Extra Brut Extra Old have aged at least three years in vats, on the lees. This is followed by a second maturation in the bottle, where Extra Brut Extra Old blossoms in the cellar for three years before disgorging. In view of the richness of the quality wines contained in Extra Brut Extra Old Champagne, only a very small amount of sugar is added to the mixture – 3 g/l. Extra Brut Extra Old is a wine that can be easily adapted to different situations – with the freshness of an aperitif and the depth needed to enjoy it next to dinner. The flexible yet characterful wine is perfect for both light, delicate food nuances as well as for more rich flavours. Extra Brut Extra Old goes especially well with redfish, crab, veal, mushrooms and Comté cheese."
