Taste: the palate is creamy and textured, characters like roasted hazelnuts, nougat, marzipan (almond), stone-fruits and baked pear are obvious. It is weighty, rounded and persistent wine.

Description: The graIn the vineyard the Little Beauty Pinot Gris is the neighbour to the Riesling, just 1.8ha of vines. But unlike the Riesling, the Pinot Gris is not so well behaved in the vineyard. It grows like crazy! Therefore, it requires a lot of handwork to control vigour. This results in lower yields, but makes a wine with more intensity and mouth-feel.The French vernacular being ‘Gris’ and the Italian vernacular being ‘Grigio’. Broadly, we might say the French style shows more viscosity, and this is the style made at Little Beauty. Ripe, opulent, moreish. Stone-fruit characters such as apricots, white peach and nectarine. There’s a nutty hint (like hazelnut or almond). And as it ages in the bottle, it shows a bit more earthiness.
